P90X: Day 10

Just got done with day 10 “Chest & Back”, along with “Ab Ripper X”.  Lasting longer in the workouts than before, especially in the ab ripper x video.

Trying to stay away from red meats as much as possible.  But when I got home, Alicia had a grilled burger, beef tips and vegetables waiting for me; couldn’t resist.  Still no soda’s, although Alicia’s case of coke’s in the fridge have called my name a few times.  Bought some green tea, about to have some.

Dang it!!  I just looked at my p90x book and realized i’m doing it wrong, again!!  Geez, this is why you read the instructions first, lol.  Ok, so I was right from the beginning about starting over after Day 7.  There are different phases, and you do certan workouts for that phase, not necessarily in the order of the DVD’s packaged.  Oh well, atleast I have been getting a good workout.  Was suppose to do shoulders and arms; close enough.  Tomorrow will get me on the right track with Yoga X.  1/2 of Phase 1 is over.

See you all tomorrow!

P90X: Day 9

Today’s workout was Core Synergistics (not technically today’s, but read my last post).  Was a great workout, worked the soreness out of the muscles in my back.  Starting to feel better and see some results.  Checked the scale and I’ve lost another 1.8 lbs.  Yay!

Pushed through most of the workout with a pretty intense migraine.  Took two extra strength Tylenol and their just now kicking in.

Several people at my church have been doing P90X.  As far as I know, all are seeing excellent results.  One in particular has made a pretty amazing transformation.  To all my friends working hard, my hat is off to you sirs!

Tomorrows workout will be Back & Biceps.  My two favorite areas to workout.  Love the burn.  Going to try to get to bed a little earlier than normal.  Goodnight everyone.

P90X: Day 8

Today went well.  Had a really busy day at work, “almost” got pulled over for “allegedly” speeding.  Played with Kara until her bedtime and my workout time.

This is the furthest I have came in my last 3 failed attempts to start p90x (pause for applause).  Obviously I didn’t try very hard before.  Wow, 8 days going strong.

For some reason I was thinking in a 7 day workout mindset, so on my 8th day (today) I started back at Day 1 with Chest and Back.  Woops.  I realized after I had done the workout that I was suppose to do the 8th day workout which is “Core Synergistics”.  Well luckily Tomorrow is very similar to what I did today, so I will just do Synergistics tomorrow night. (lost yet?)

The workout was great.  I have discovered that doing the bands, instead of straight pullups, gives me a better workout.  Atleast while I’m still not really “in shape”, yet.

I have a question for the health people and/or p90x people out there.  I am looking for a replacement drink to better my road to a healthy lifestyle.  It has been tough to give up sodas.  Water is a little boring but I realize it is a necessity.  I am not a fan of the light / flavored waters.  So I have been drinking a lot of water, tea, and v8 fruit juice.  I need something inexpensive, maybe fruity.  I am even up for some odd teas (love tea).  So if you have any recommendations or recipes, I would love to hear them.  Thanks.

So far so good.  P90X has been awesome and I can’t wait to see the results!

P90X: Day 7

Sorry I have not posted the last two days.  Unfortunately I did not get to do Day 5 and 6 of P90X.  On Day 5, my family and friend’s went to a water park, we stayed their till late and then went to dinner.  By the time I got home I was exhausted from the long day.  Similar story for Day 6, my friend’s daughter had her first birthday.  We grilled out and did not get home until late.

Today has been a different story.  Just got done with my workout.  Day 7 was suppose to be X Stretch, but I needed to sweat a little because of the last few days of slack.  So I put in Kempo X, which consists of a lot of punching and kicking. Great stuff, looking forward to tomorrow.

Sorry for the short post, got lots to do.

P90X: Day 4 Yoga

I made the mistake of getting on the scale before my week is over, DOH!  So many thoughts raced through my head; how, why, but I, NO.  Gained a little bit.  That was before my Yoga workout too, so let’s just say my mind wasn’t so clear.

Drastic times call for drastic measures.  I’m about ready to take @donaldG advice, and do a vegetarian diet for a while.  I know it is still very early in the workout, I just expected to at least lose a pound or two.  Going to alter my diet some more.  Lessen the intake, and eat even more healthier (I haven’t been perfect).

So, how did the Yoga workout go?  Ok.  Like I mentioned before, clearing my mind was a little difficult which sucked all the fun out of yoga.  And there were to many distractions, so I cut the workout short.  Don’t get me wrong, I love yoga, and I’m committed to this workout.  But man, last night just wasn’t fun for various reasons.  I did enough to sweat, so I think I’m good.

I’m looking forward to tonight’s workout.  Ready to sweat and get my butt kicked.  Not sure what is in store for me, but with p90x, I know it’s going to be good.
